Love that toad, looks soooo mellow. And indeed, that orchid is a classic. (Mine's still in sheath, not as robust but still not petite) You have a beautiful blooming of a gorgeous plant.

1) beautiful flowers
2) why do we all keep perpetuating the lie that this color is blue? I do it too....?
3) the toad is a female cuban tree frog, often called a cuban croaker here.
Cuban tree frog - Wikipedia.
unfortunately they are another invasive and they out complete the local treefrogs by a huge factor...seems likely they will replace the local species but they are fairly fungible for the local frog predators so.....evolution??
the males are insane! all hopped up on hormones this time of year. the females are docile and i have held several and they just hang out in my wet hands when i have to move them out of a pot or something.

Lesson learned about the cuban tree frog. Sorry. I've edited my post accordingly so I don't spread misinformation. Also, perhaps we should change the term "blue tones" to "violet tones" with respect to the violet spectrum?

Well, the term "coerulea" gets applied... for most orchids, as "blue" as they get. Yeah, it's really violet. Bluer than the typical "orchid" color. "Cooler" vs "warmer"?

Beautiful!
I never understood why we call this color 'Blue' in orchid and 'Violet'/'Purple' in other flowers. This color is uncommon in orchids and should be celebrated without the pretense as it is very pretty.
