Bicolor should be fine. Dowiana needs to stay warm all winter. Can you keep it never below 70 F / 21C?

Hmm. True. I guess at night in the room it gets about 69 ish. If it set right next to a heater... (we don't have any furnace in the house so it is all space heaters). I think I could keep it to 70 in winter. I'd love to get that one with the gold/purple lip.

I'd say you nailed the timing of repotting that tigrina perfectly!

Dowiana is notoriously touchy so study up on that before you buy. Bicolor sould be ok though! Stick it next to your tigrina and I think it will be just fine

Oops didnt realize your question was already answered!

On addition to the heat dowiana also needs a pretty harsh dry spell (at least according to ben oliveros at orchid eros, i have never grown it)

The funny thing is, as I have noticed, that if you happen to have crazy conditions, you may win the lottery and be the one who can keep it perfectly. Like that "dumb luck" in repotting the Tigrina at the perfect moment. If It wants a harsh dry spell, this is the best place for it.

Should be fine. It has new roots about to grow. I look forward to seeing the blooms one day.

Thanks. I'm not a fan of buying seedlings, but this one just happened.

Update: I did not kill it. I transplanted it at a good time. Picture of new roots!
