I feel the pain... it's so pretty (which is why had to have the one). I don't grow C. dowiana for the same reason. (Killed a few, gave up)

For me, C. lueddemanniana, dowiana, rex, lawrenceana, and warscewiczii seem to dislike cooler temps (below 60 oF). The other unifoliates seem fine down to the lower 50s. Besides temp, they seem similar in cultural preferences.

Next set of blooms. These seedlings took a while to bloom, but man something turned "on" inside them!
