They are all mounted on pieces of cork nested into clay pots. Night temperatures in winter are around 60F. Days can run up into the low eighties, even in winter. I think the key to growing them is an evaporative cooler plus a misting fan that hangs above. The mister will wet them with RO water all day in summertime. They are irrigated daily with RO unless it is especially cloudy and cool. I fertilize them with 50ppm nitrogen maybe once a week.
Another factor which may help is that they are tetraploids, which is said to make them more temperate tolerant. The light is quite bright, as they grow in the greenhouse with all of the other Cattleyas. The humidity is never lower than 70%. Hope this helps!
