Than, do you know by chance how long a seed pod of this Epidendrum does take to ripen? Near to a year I'd guess?
If memory serves, mine bloomed around this time last year too and the seed pods started opening around April. Epidendrums generally don't take as long and some other orchids.

None that I could find easily. But as far as I can remember they are shaped like an elongated football, slightly glaucous green in color, about 3" long and 1/2' in diameter at maturity.

Thanks.
Those on my plant still look very much the same. Solid green, the column too is green, the petals blackish and dry, but nothing swelling nor elongating.
Are as 'boring' as Phal-capsules ...!
Meanwhile most of the flowers are wilting, as I suspected they would.
Now its just waiting. (And start reading if there are any new 'concoctions' for sowing them next year.)
