C. intermedia, var. acquinii, 'Linwood' HCC/AOS Male
Default C. intermedia, var. acquinii, 'Linwood' HCC/AOS

This is a mother division, which I found at Dave Off's fall backyard sale a year ago. The award is from 2006 (78 pts).

At the time, it was a single lead plant, with 6 or 7 PBs. It bloomed in the early spring 2021, and again now. Looking at the plant yesterday, I found that it has exploded with new leads:
2 from the most recent PB
1 from the previous PB
2 from some of the older PBs

Beautiful coloration. I just Love it when I get a division and it takes off rambling in many different directions. Score!

And C. intermedias are very good at that. I have a var. Suave, which had 3 leads for the first 2 years, then it took off this summer (with 8 or 9 leads).

One of the very first orchids I ever got was Lc (Cattlianthe?) Trick or Treat "Orange Magic,' back in the mid '80s. It's the only one that stuck with me since the beginning of growing orchids. I can't imagine how many divisions I've taken off that original plant. It's a rambling, lead producing machine, and blooms about three times a year with long lasting blooms.

I'd forgotten for years my goal to get a C. crispata (a grandparent). Goal remembered, now gotta find one.
