Thanks Harold - this one definitely does not like wet feet! I potted mine up and it's finally starting to root. We'll see how it does.

I got mine imported bareroot with a spike. It seems like it goes dormant after blooming (maybe shock from import?) and only roots with new growth. I was a little worried but... hopefully mine will establish now.

As for temps, it definitely struggled outdoors with 60 oF nights. I think the intense reddish hue (the plant became completely red, much more than the photo below) was due to "cold" temps? It's gotten better once I brought it indoors. The Chadwick article mentions 65 oF minimum but I think it may be closer to 70 oF minimum for me!

It finished its new growth in March, and laid dormant until this week... I see a nubbin!

It seems like it's still on South American time after a year it was imported.
