Default Encyclia plicata in bloom

Bought this one last year and though it had a lot of buds on the spike, only 2 survived...Not sure what got a hold of them, but at least I did get to see the blooms!

Very nice bloom. Is it fragrant? This is a small-growing species, isn't it?

It IS cute! Great lip! It has the same whimsical attitude of Phal. equestris, I think.

It has a sweet fragrance to it and is relatively small in plant size, but the spike is probably 14-16 inches.
It's funny that you say that Elliot, as Sue was teasing me yesterday about my not being able to grow equestris! LOL

Hi, I have recently bought a young plant. Did you find any particular requirements were essential to encourage the flowering? I am following general Encyclia advice. Thank you.
