Picture taken under morning sun....the glistening, sparkling petal is little bit tricky to capture with a phone camera though. The flower opens as intense carmine red (hence, coccinea ), but after a while the color slightly fades into deep reddish orange. Which is still nice though.

It gets around 22-24°C during spring and autumn, and usually winter low is about 14°C at the night.

However, during the summer, it can get as high as 28°C at the night (I have even seen 30°C nights couple of years ago) due to the hot, humid tropical air; in that case, I usually brings my heat-intolerant plants into the living room where the air conditioner is running.

Default it's getting better.

C. (Soph.) coccinea-20201028_092026-jpg

Two flowers opened this time, and the one in the front is 5.5 cm, a whopping 1cm bigger than the last bloom... surely it is getting better and better!
