Odd name but the bloom is gorgeous! Picture doesn't do it justice, it's a very dark burgundy irl. No fragrance that I can tell. This one survived shipping pretty well, unfortunately the flower is pointed at the floor! Had to take this with the plant on it's side. 😂

Updated this post with some pics I took outside in the sun, the color really popped!

The camera never quite does them justice! It is quite pretty, though, even so!

That's a very nice one! Also love that red pattern on the yellow background.

It's really nice, 2 more buds to go! I like the yellow throat against the red a lot.

I find that these intense red flowers are the most difficult to photograph accurately. The camera sensors just don't see what the eye sees, and some of the velvety depth of color gets lost - daylight is better than artificial light but still doesn't quite cut it. You can get a little closer adjusting colors in a photo editor, but having spent hours messing with photos, I always end up having to be satisfied with less than what I can see.

I tried taking pictures last night with flash, they turned out alright but still not close. The one posted was just the overhead led light with no flash. I tried one with flash in the led light as well, looked so saturated and not close so it was immediately deleted.
Would like to set up a mini "studio" to take these pics, probably wouldn't take too much. A black backdrop and spotlight would probably do it. I'm just using a cell phone at this point so don't have to be too fancy!

If you can set up a suitable backdrop outside during the day you might get closer to the color. If you want to play with a photo editor to tweak it further, Irfanview is an excellent little photo editor (free for individual use... the price is right), and the color-correction function is very powerful and easy to use.

Definitely ------ we eventually automatically notice a lot that the image/photo just doesn't get the sort of view --- which is overall view plus colours, plus sometimes little specs of glittering that some orchid petals and sepals have ------ where the light rays getting to our two eyes (with our generally 2 eyes spaced apart by some distance) can see the glittering easily ----- while typical cameras basically have a single 'eye' don't get the same effect ----- although occasionally I have seen photos where the glittering was captured - when cameras have appropriate settings. That's aside from the other physical differences between our own eye system and the lens/sensor/electronics system.

One thing I notice is that our two eyes looking at a flower is able to see a bit more than a typical single lens camera ----- as our eyes are able to peek 'around the sides' of orchid flowers ..... to get a little bit more detail. Two-lens cameras do exist, but maybe still some issues with calibration, or customers reporting image not very good due to poor construction or cheap build or getting out of calibration.
