Cattleya mossiae, schroederae and Jocasta Male
Default Cattleya mossiae, schroederae and Jocasta

Here is an example of parents and progeny. Top left is mossiae. To its right is schroederae. At the bottom is Jocasta (mossiae x schroederae). The schroederae is in first flower and should improve in size and form on subsequent flowerings.

Really beautiful. Totally agree about family shots. These three put up a great account of colour variations and patterns. These three combined is an orchid show in itself hehehe.

Thanks very much Bayard for showing these photos.

Beautiful! I think I'd have a tough time telling the mossiae from the Jocasta if you put them in front of me and didn't tell me which is which! Is there a fragrance difference?

Yes, the Jocasta definitely takes after its mossiae parent. With these two parents, I would imagine that the scent is phenomenally good. It should be an easy grower and reliable bloomer too. Congrats on the flowers. All of them are outstanding.

Thanks again!
isirus79 and smweaver - the mossiae is the most fragrant.
