Default Rth. Dal's Emperor 'Michelle'

This nice yellow flower began to open yesterday - not fully opened yet. I also photographed it next to a matured Rth. Free Spirit (cultivar name unknown) flower - which was originally fairly light yellow coloured - but now tending to orange coloured after some aging.

Pure sunshine. I love the mini-Catts... one can have so many more of them in the same space as one big one, and they tend to be more forgiving as well.

Totally agree Roberta! I noticed online that SVO has the amazing Rth./Pot. Dal's Emperor 'SVO' ! I don't think we have that one in Australia. Have you got a 'SVO' ? !!!

I don't have that particular plant, but I have lots of Sunset Valley Orchids creations... I have the good fortune of living about an hour and a half's drive from the nursery, but even easier, several local orchid societies frequently buy raffle-table and auction plants from them. So over the years, lots of these little gems have followed me home. Most of these mini-Catts are equally at home in the back yard of relatively frost-free temperate locations (like most of the California coast from San Francisco south, and I'm sure most of the Australian coast as well) and on windowsills everyplace else. A lot of them bloom more than once a year, just as a bonus.

That is definitely awesome Roberta ----- about the living not too far from SVO. That's a real paradise situation!

I haven't been to anything like an SVO style nursery before. But I'm imagining it would be orchid wonderland over there.

Absolutely agree about the bonus about getting flowers more than 1 time a year. Those little gems you got are lucky ones. Definitely in very good hands!

Thanks! And Andy's Orchids is only about 10 minutes from there. Great for the orchid collection, rough on the bank account...
