Default Cattleya perrinii ‘Waterford’

I received an FCC from the American Orchid Society for this plant at the Mid-Atlantic judging center in November:

Here is a second inflorescense at home in the greenhouse:

She’s real pretty. How old is the plant?

The shape and colours are definitely superb here. Congratulations on receving an FCC for this. A more than tremendous result.

The shiny front lobe and the flourescent look of the column is really appealing. Also the long slender sepals.

A real privilege to be able to see such an elegant flower. It's wonderful.

DirtyCoconuts - I’ve had this plant for a number of years.
SouthPark - Sadly, the flowers don’t last long and they bruise easily. The fragrance is musky like gardenias.

Thanks for mentioning those details about the lifetime of the flower. That's quite ok! It's a privilege for us to be able to enjoy seeing this flower - pretty much forever, thanks to capturing its beauty in the photographs. Excellent shots!!!

Very nice to hear about its fragrance too! Nice.

Fantastic win on your FCC. It's great to see an outstanding representative of this species win that supreme award. Congratulations.
