Update - I took the plant to AOS judging last week. I almost didn’t bring it, but thought it would be good for show and tell, so I entered it last.
The petals were wider and one of the judges mentioned the previous award description about the sepals and lip precluding a higher score. They awarded it an FCC!

I was wrong, I wanted to say, it was fair! The flower deserved it!

Excellently done here!

I also really like it is a product of Stewart Orchids. Isn't operating anymore --- but goes to show that relatively old superb classics remain superb. Fred A. Stewart would/will be proud!

Super congratulations with this one!

SouthPark - yeah, I really geek out on orchid history. More than 100 years of breeding went into this hybrid.
Such venerable firms are no more, but still we have Vacherot & Lecoufle in France who introduced mericlones to the orchid world. Without the cloning technology they helped develop, I wouldn’t possess this clone from Stewarts that lived into the 21st century to be recognized for the great breeding this firm was known for.

Absolutely Bayard!! And it's a massive thanks for fellow and fellowette growers (such as yourself and everybody here) all around the world, that are keeping those absolute gems alive and thriving. And thanks to the internet and technology (camera, computers etc) that allows all of us to see these beautiful flowers.

Also --- the other day, when you mentioned what those previous judges said that they were looking for, I was thinking you would very likely to have made it into FCC this time around - as your latest flower appeared to have addressed what those previous judges were looking for. You had a pretty much water-tight case for that recent judging. Excellent odds, and excellent result.
