C. forbesii isn't among my favorite species, but it does tend to make some wonderful primary hybrids. Are plants from this cross normally fragrant?

I haven't noted fragrance, so probably not (It's getting ready to bloom again so I'll check) C. forbesii is rather boring to look at, but its frequent blooming and cold tolerance are big positives. In this combination, I have very pretty flowers on an extremely vigorous plant that blooms frequently and laughs at winter. So a pretty good compromise. |

Yes It's true. And has very beautiful flowers. And Cattleya aclandiae has a bird cherry aroma.

That is very beautiful. With it blooming several times a year, that certainly makes up for the short lived flowers!

C. Quinquecolor just opened a new batch of flower. Nice fragrance, especially in the morning. Not as strong as aclandiae. (That can be a good thing...) |
