Default Cattleya walkeriana 'Lavender' (Estrella da Collina x Divina)

Wow! Large 5 inch blooms, good form, and great fragrance. This bloomed already 4 months ago, so it looks like it can potentially bloom a few times a year.

It bloomed from a leaved growth instead of a speacialized flower growth.

The plant is around 4 inches tall, but each growth really spreads out rhizome wise. A very rambling plant habit indeed.

Growing in a wicked, hydroponic setup under LEDs.

The flower is so beautiful. Well done!

I have no walkeriana myself, but I think that I will put it on my buy list.

Very nice! Can you tell us a bit more about the potting media?

I used wooden dowells and wire to secure the plant and
I draped microfiber strands from the roots into a reservoir container. I fill the reservoir, mist the roots and repeat when dry. This method looks ugly potting wise though. I use this method when I get a cattleya with bad roots.

Also the micro fiber gets a bit microbial, but the roots don't mind.

Its beauty is only surpassed by its fragrance. I love the smell. Reminds me of a sweet vanilla pastry with floral undertones. It smells strongly too. I can get whiffs of it from a few feet away.

Very cool! Looks like the roots are doing pretty well now.
