Default ITS HERE AND IN SPIKE!!!!

OMG I can't believe it, my Coryanthes Macrantha is finally here its huge and its in SPIKE! I almost ripped it off before I realized it. I did not know that when I ordered it. Now I am even more excited and am praying that I can keep it alive and not kill it....now how do I water this, because its spike is hanging down the side tightly against the container and past the container down the side so I can't just set it in water. Also its in a actual container instead of a net basket...and possibly bark? I truly can't tell...its a little full in that container and I can't see past the roots....Pictures to come in a little bit!

Did you get this one from Seattle Orchid? If so, it's probably in bark. I'd leave it alone until the blooms are done on the spike. I have received several plants in spike and every time I've gotten over eager and repotted, the spike failed. It looks like it's happy with its current potting arrangement. Look at those roots!

Yes, I got it from Seattle orchid! It will have to stay in its original bucket b/c I am going to have to order a large net basket. Thankfully they sent it with it's own metal hook so I can hang it. Other wise its roots would break on the bottom. Its spike is currently double the length of its pot. So I am ordering a new one today so that after it blooms I can put it in a bigger pot with more growth space because it is officially out grown that one. It is still going today although we are having a freak freeze 28* today its sitting beside my desert tortoises tank so it gets the heat from the infra red heat bulb and light light from the regular heat bulb that is a table length away from the plant.

Should I spritz its roots everyday or every other day....

ah! that's too low actually! Well, from what I saw and geard (in movies or books), I thought Texas was pretty warm in winter too (minimum 34/35F) as most of mediterranean zone.
I've got Cymbidiums under the snow right now.

PS could you post a pic of the Cory right now?

Sure.....it never gets below freezing.... I wish. WE NEVER EVER got snow days when I was growing up. Now we get a week of them at least 1 x a year. YIKES! I will post one here in a few minutes. I decided to water it today instead of last night to give it 24 hours to adjust.
