Thumbs up Cycnoches William Clarke

I was able to get this little guy at the Honolulu Orchid Show today. Cyc William Clarke is a primary hybrid between Cyc cooperi and Cyc herrenhusanum and it looks like this cross really takes after the cooperi parentage. Unfortunately, the pics I took make the flower look more yellow than it really is, as the real color is closer to a burnt orange, really unique IMO. I think this is its first bloom and Im going to try and cross this one with my Cyc barthiorum for a little pink and some spots. That is of course, if I can get female flowers from my barthiorum!

Love the unique blooms of the cyc. My Jean E Monnier bloomed 2 months back, hope the cross works for you, will definitely be a gorgeous one.

Grand the wait will be well worth

This was my first bloom, if I remember correctly it had 12 blooms on it...check it out

Im on Oahu right now, but Im heading back to the Big Island in May. Also, thanks to everyone for the kind words about my new Cyc. I should be posting a pic of my barthiorum in a few weeks. Last year was its first bloom and I was very impressed, so this year should be even better!
