Really nice. As someone who is not a major catasetum fan (sorry ) I do like this. Very elegant looking flowers and great combination of the dark and light colouring.

Those are some really great looking flowers! I could never get male flowers from my tenebrosum, so I'll have to enjoy yours instead.

That is a magnificent show of blooms ! I only got four flowers from my plant this year....you must have watered exactly on time....I forgot to water for a month and most of my buds blasted

thanks. perhaps by lowering the lighting intensity may help to get some male flowers. and also if all you tenebrosum have super fat bulbs, i would suggest to cut down your fertilizer regime, let them 'starve' a little bit because plants with high vigor tends to produce female in sufficient light settings.

i read about your post on that one, but if you can get the 14buds once, you can get it again in the future. mine is watered on the daily basis due to my media of choice and also the weather here.

Great blooms! Like Rosie, I don't usually like Catasetums (we're terrible people ) but this is one of my favorites. I've only seen pictures of it, but I just love it. The shape is elegant and the contrast is striking.
