Cycnoches lehmanii - Orchid Board

First-flowering seedling. The plant was advertised as Cycnoches lehmanii a couple of years ago when I acquired it; however, I'm not so sure that that's what it actually is. I know this is a female flower. But it doesn't resemble any of the Cyc. lehmanii's I found when I Googled images of that species. If anyone can shed any light on this, I would appreciate it. It's been open for a few days and is starting to emit a strong spicy fragrance in the morning (which disappears by late afternoon).

Thanks, Michael. Yes, I think you're right. Ugh, I was really hoping it would be lehmanii. Oh well, my search will now continue for that species. Thank you again.

Indeed, the species of the genus Cycnoches, section cycnoches are confused a lot.

I've also some that were initially mislabeled, but as I like all of them I don't care!

Now, I only hope to be able to get all the species

I also agree with the Cycnoches haagii Id. have you seen this presentation?

Very interesting presentation, Tricho. Thank you! Yes, I like all of the Cycnoches plants also. But now I have three haagii plants and no lehmaniis. So I would like to find a lehmanii, especially since I've read several sources indicate that it has wonderfully fragrant flowers (I'm more attracted to the flowers' fragrances than their shapes and colors). Thanks again for sharing that presentation.

Excellent. Thanks! I'll contact them and see if they have any more available. If they can survive the journey across the Atlantic to Portugal, then they shouldn't have too much difficulty being shipped the shorter distance to the US (I've never imported any plants before, so have no firsthand experience of the process).
