Jim, where do you live that your Cycnoches bloom in the summer? Or is this typical of this one?
Mine all seem to be late fall/winter bloomers. Well, as long as they bloom!

Nancy I live in the Chicago area, but I Grow under lights in a basement, so the plants don't know where they are. Thanks for asking. Jim.

Nancy, in cultivation this one gives flowers around September, but starts around June and can go to December!

Thanks, Tricho - the later blooming seems more typical here.
Jim, my other question about your growing methods is that your plant certainly appears to have all of its foliage; I'm fairly sure that I have only seen Cycnoches in flower when they are fully ?deciduoused? (leafless). Your plants still go dormant, don't they? How do they know when to wake up? Do you have different lighting patterns for different seasons? I know it must be a lot of work!

Beautiful flowers, Jim. I have a loddigessii and a lehmanii in the back yard that are starting to push their spikes out. Can't wait for them to bloom, and looking at your flower is making me even more anxious for them to hurry up and flower. Is your loddigessii fragrant? Once again, very nice flowers.

To answer a few questions. Flowers will last 2-3 weeks. After flowers are finished blooming the leaves drop off. I then remove the plant from the pot and leave it set on my bench and give it no water until a new growth starts. There is a slight fragrance. Thanks, Jim
