Default Catasetum planiceps

Catasetum planiceps Lindl., Edwards's Bot. Reg. 29: t. 9 (1843).

This species is from northern Brasil, Venezuela and near countries.

It is a Ctsm that grows on top of leaves, on rocks. Fortunatelly it adapts easily to culture in common pots.

It really likes a dry autumn/winter rest and wet spring/summer and it usually blooms in summer.

No, mine is Ctsm Rebecca Northen 'Pink Fragrance'

Should look something like this when it blooms:

That one is great, I have the clone 'Mikabi'

I'm expecting the first bloom in the next winter/spring.

By the way, that grex now is Clowesia (some Catasetum were moved), if you want to be up to date

I have some photos of the Clowesia Grace Dunn ‘Chadds Ford' AM/AOS , similar but more white. Let me see...

Yes, I completely understand! Sometimes I feel like it is best to wait 10 years or so

That (name changing) is not so important as having the right ID. I try to change what seems right, whatever that may be...
