Default Catasetum pileatum fma. alba

I received this plant as a little bulb few years ago. This is the first time it blooms... I am not very happy with this blooming: flowers too small (less than 8 cm wide) and too cupped for pileatum... However, I hope it improves in the future...

Ramon don't be dissapointed, the flowers look great even though they are a little bit small. I am sure it will improve once the plant is established.

Beautiful, pristine flowers. I am sure that the flowering will improve with age!

Not a bad first blooming at all, Ramon.

I would be happy with that one, Ramón! Already now!
But you know by yourself that first time flowering very often is not reaching full capacity. But I have to say, I like it as it is. Ramón, is it this plant from Venezuela?

Looks very nice to me, Ramon. Even though you're not entirely happy with the shape and size of the blooms, do they still have the typical scent for this species? I have a NOID catasetum that I got maybe five or six years ago. It had no tag, but the plant looks a lot like yours (I know that many catasetum species look similar when they're not in bloom). I hope mine is a pileatum, and I might be able to confirm that very soon as I just noticed a spike a few days ago that's a few centimeters long. Congratulations on your flowers. I think they look great.

Steve
