Default Gongora galeata

I bought this one with the Stan. oculata that I got from Tiki George this year. This is a small division that I took when I got them. The larger plant that it came from just finished 5-6 spikes, and has two more on the way. I missed the photo op. on that one.....I was really busy, and didn't know the flowers were so short-lived, kinda like the Stanhopea. These smell kind of like a not-quite-ripe pear, and last about 4-5 days.

Oh, and that green rat tail that's hanging off the side is a small division from my epiphytic cactus (Rhypsalis baccifera), and a close-up shot of that.....the little white balls are liquid-filled seed pods that form after the tiny white flowers.

It's kind of a green, unripe smell.

Beautiful, Jasen! I had thought that most Gongora's had long lived flowers, maybe next time it blooms they'll linger far longer (hopefully).

That Rhypsalis is adorable!
