Default Stanhopea wardii 'Woodlands' in bloom

Got this one over the summer from Art Stone, and was surprised with blooms already.

Congrats Laura!

Nice wardii clone! I love the "green touch" in the yellow bottom color!

Awesome! If I remember correctly, wardii has a fairly strong, citrusy scent. We really need to find a way to transmit scents on the internet!

Thanks everyone and yes Steve it was just beginning to open yesterday, so it's scent was a little faint, but nice and citrusy!

Nice one, Laura. I like the fine speckling. I'm sure the scent has kicked in by now. Intense, huh?

My daughter and I just went out to check the scent and unlike yesterday slightly citrus scent, it actually smelled more like flavored sugar (perhaps vanilla). It reminds my daughter of walking into a confectionary shoppe!

Beautiful blooms, Laura. And that's a very good description of the scent: a confectioner's shop. Mine's getting ready to bloom also, and I can't wait. It's one of the highlights of the late summer for me.
