Default Catasetum Mrudula

Hi,
Catsm. Mrudula, hybrid that I made and registered with R.H.S.
It is a hybrid between catsm.sanguinium X catsm.saccatum,the pod was on catsm.saccatum.
I have named the hybrid after my niece.

very beautiful flower, and very nice of you to name it after your niece.

it was registered wrong, hybrids are always listed with the seed parent first, so it's Catsm. saccatum x Catsm. sanguineum. the RHS registry says the pod was on the sanguineum. you can contact the RHS by email, and ask them to change the registry.

Catsm sanguineum x Catsm saccatum would be considered a different hybrid, and could be registered under a different name.

Very nice flower, Veekay. Good job ( though I suppose the plants did all the hard work, haha) Might one obtain a division of this catasetum somehow?

Looks good! Since you made the cross, do you have other sibs that will be blooming soon?

I just noticed the advice stating that the reciprocal of thyis hybrid would have a different name. That's incorrect. A X B = B X A in registering orchid hybrids.
