When the wheels fall off, they really fall off. What would cause this to abort BOTH spikes? The leaves were starting to yellow so I moved it into lower light thinking that was the problem and then both spikes have turned brown. Any suggestions? Watering schedule didn't change either.
I had to switch from rainwater to tapwater; which is good quality; that I treat with a chlorine remover. I also let it sit for a couple of days. I don'think thats the problem since the spikes came out months after the change. My concern is was the frequency of the watering supposed to change(decrease)? The 2 spikes are long gone now but a 3rd is coming up and I'd kinda like to keep this one.
Sorry about the problem , I had that happen with my Coryanthes earlier this year , had 2 spikes that crashed then produced 2 more and bloomed , I would suspect a Temp. change ? Nothing else changed . Gin

Bummer. I have found w/ mine that winter spikes often abort while summer ones don't. Whether this is due to higher heat & humidity in the summer [my indoor winter humidity is terrible] or just coincidence I don't know.
