The plant comes from Fred Clarke at Sunset Valley Orchids. All of his plants are superb and he is, by far, the finest grower of catasetinae species and hybrids that I have ever encountered.

I'm right behind you. Mine is in bud right now, a couple of weeks from bloom. In the past mine has bloomed lighter and more "orangey" than yours (more like the barthiorum parent), but I love the darker variety you have. Looks like more of the cooperi influence came through.

Mine came from JEM, (before they blew away), but I have bought from Sunset Valley too.

Sunset Valley is a great source for catesitenae, and Fred is a very helpful guy.

OOO very rich coloration. I like the shades of red and burnt orange that come through this cross. Now if i could only find one.

That is one of the prettiest I've seen so far, dvestpertilio. That color is beautiful.

I have 3 from JEM, from when they were still here in Delray Beach. Aren't they in Hawaii now?

Fred Clark's inventory is incredible. He's very available to help with any questions also. I keep promising myself that if I make any progress with the 3 I've got, I'm going for one of his black orchids.

Outstanding display, the dark orange spots in the flowers make them very attractive. Excellent acquisition.
