Talking Ugly and not so ugly :)

This is my Coryanthes fieldingii in bud and with the blooms just opening .

Gin, that is a pretty neat looking flower and the red spots look like they have silver center! Where did they end up on the flower?

I believe the second photo shows the buds fully open...this is not the work of a serious artist!
Gin, I hate to ask: which (in your estimation) is ugly/not so ugly?
It's hard for me to believe that someone (and I think C&H offers the seedlings) crossed a Coryanthes with a Stanhopea - I guess they were hoping for the homeliest offspring imaginable!
Seriously, I love both genera (just not together), but they are definitely those "eye of the beholder" kind of flowers. Spectacularly scented, though.

The second picture is open . I like them because they are diffrent . Here is one Tindo calls the toilet bowl bloom these take up a lot less room then thier cousins the Stans. Gin

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)
