This is one of the two spikes in bloom right now. Two already bloomed. There are about eight more on the way.

I understand that this is likely to be G. galeata, not G. cassidea. (Gongora: now that you've got a close up, does this verify your ID?)

Hi Sue,
This is Gongora galeata,(the yellow form) I believe this is the nicest color form, I think it comes from the Xalapa region of Mexico.
