I've got two spikes on this and 3 incoming growths of some sort (new growth or spikes?) so this thing is constantly working, even when dormant. The scent is like a sweet pine/citrus mix and its AMAZING!! This is a division from a trade between myself and Katrina early in 2016.

This one gets very similar conditions normally used with Catasetinae. These are the general guidelines I use: Sunset Valley Orchids - Superior Hybrids for Orchid Enthusiasts

There's a good chance I won't give my Catasetinae any water until around Memorial Day. If the growths on this plant are new bulbs and not spikes I'll probably wait until at least until April to even consider watering.

Yeah I was at SVO earlier this year and that's where I got the mini catasetum I have now... he chatted at length about care and interesting facts, great guy... but was curious on how you yourself are growing this... looks like it's outside?! light levels?

Steve, what a beautifull classic. Very hard to find, these days. In Europe, anyway. I picked up some hybrids involving it, which will be fun, but this piece of Catasetinae history has lost none of its beauty over the decades (1959!). W.G. Moir was way ahead of his time.

I grew this one under lights indoors this year but it will probably go outside this spring/summer/fall. This one likes bright light and it didn't go dry once while actively growing. A leaf or two suddenly turned yellow in late November so I stopped watering and rest of the leaves fell off in a week or so once it dried out.

The Clowesia hybrids are tough to find in the US as well. Moir was definitely a pioneer of his time!

Very nice! This is pretty impossible to find in Canada, but I was able to get one on ebay. Can't wait for mine to bloom!
