Default Gongora fulva (tricolor)

Also disputed to be Gongora quinquenervis, this Gongora from Costa Rica and Panama is found very close to sea level. It is a great plant if certain conditions are met and can eventually make extremely impressive hanging displays. Definitely not the most impressive display this year but nice nonetheless.

There is a neat article on Gongoras published by the American Orchid Society. Here's the link: Gongora

I love mine. It's a reliable bloomer and the fragrance is wonderful and powerful.

One of my favorite orchids! Lost mine several years ago. Will have to try one again some day.

Thankyou for the link to that article, found it to be interesting. Curious about the recommendation to divide larger plants ...maybe due to the size of flower show As compared to foliage on a large plant.

I have a prized fulva which has won me an HCC ...it blooms faithfully 2-4 times a year. It grows well for me with little effort...I have therefore recently acquired a few more (like 8) gongoras to see if I can grow them as well.
