Definitely looks like barthiorum! One of my favorite species.

I didn't have a chance to check. After they opened I have only been home early morning or late night The blooms lasted about 2 weeks

[QUOTE=isurus79;781471]Definitely looks like barthiorum! One of my favorite species.[/

How much experience do you have with barthiorum? The grower I bought it from says he grows it continuously without a rest period. He finds the smaller seedling plants don't really need it.
Now that it is done flowering, I was planning on giving it a dry rest like in nature, but.........

What do you think? Anyone else, please chirp in too

Thank you everyone

I've found young plants of just about any species that require rest can be tricked into growing during winter with the right conditions. Cycnoches barthiorum is no exception (I grew several of this one in Hawaii). Roy Tokunaga at H&R Orchids told me he doesn't give them a rest, though their nighttime temps don't get below the low 50's, usually warmer. I was able to track down Gene Monnier at his retirement farm on the Big Island and he told me that this group does not require rest as long as low temps don't fall below 55 degrees. I tried doing this one year while still living in Hawaii and it worked. Then I moved to Texas and sold off most of my Catasetinae.

Very nice coloring. I like the big spots and reddish tone.
