Default Stanhopea connata

This Stan bloomed a week late, if it had flowered last week I could have it displayed on a Orchid Show. The entire assembly, including flowers, leaves, wooden basket and even the substrate, is very beautiful and harmonious, a pity not to have it exposed!

Its never too late to give you joy. That plant has a festive color and it is well balanced in that wooden basket...it will bloom again someday to accompany you to a show.

One spike with 4 flowers is really good. As it is still a young plant and rapidly growing, it will soon rebloom. Do you keep it on the cool side?

Hi Euplusia! It is very difficult to find a cooler place around here (even after the fall season we are reaching 31ºC), so I use the following trick: I hang the plant very low, in a more moist and shaded place. Fortunately it has worked!

Thank you, Frdemetr. Now I know which microclimate I should look for.

That's a great looking spike of blooms, Frederico. I didn't realize the spike would be that long. Mine is still a baby (at least that's what I'm telling myself, since it hasn't bloomed for me yet). What is the scent like? I've read that it isn't entirely pleasant.

Nice. Is it native to your area ?
I love Stanhopea and am fortunate to have them growing like weeds here.
