Stanhopea wardii?
Default Stanhopea wardii?

Got an unlabeled Stanhopea blooming this morning! Got over 4 spikes! Has wonderful vanilla and Vick's vapor rub smell to it! Does anyone confirm its wardii or oculata variety?

To my eye it looks like oculata, look at the Santa Barbara Orchid Estate site:

The mis-named photo is more likely to be the SBOE photo. Stanhopea occulata spots typically are larger and have an open center, like this IOSPE PHOTOS

confirmed, its an oculata! Saw the exact same flowers at local grower! Will have to change the name on the tag!

Yes, pretty sure it is oculata. The point on spotting and coloring is moot as Stanhopeas in general are very variable in colouring. Anyway, the plant is well within the range of colour variation which is described in Jenny's book.
