catasetum denticulatum
Default catasetum denticulatum

yes, a denticulatum in my collection finally! had heard many stories from catasetum collector that this one will be harder to care for compare to other catasetums. and to make thing worst, this plant is not having a good rooting system, only very few roots are present and some are brown in color.

Neat. Looks like a hungry little bird waiting for mommy.

This is my favorite species of Catasetum! For some reason, however, I was never able to keep it alive for very long. Any tips from anyone reading this would be greatly appreciated for any plant I buy in the future and for the gorgeous plant shown here!!

well, that would be another addition to the stories i had collected about denticulatum. you are not the first one telling me about the fastidious nature of denticulatum and this plant that i just purchased is soaked in sphagnum moss, which i feared the most. despite it's blooming period and immature bulb stage, i decided to do repotting and removing as much sphagnum moss as i could but sad to say the rooting systems are poor and not very healthy.
