Beautiful flowers!! I hadn't heard about this genus until coming across a thread about one yesterday. What sort of culture do they need?

Hi Camille,

Some people say this genus should be treat like a catasetum, mine was in 3,5\5 L plastic pot with pieces of wood, tree fern powder, some leaves, some Scolopendra, and a lot a ants as media, but I notice some root rot problems at the end of 2nd blossom and I thought she will rest a bit, thats when I decided to transplant for a diferent pot, I used a clay pot and only moss as media, she seems to be happy because she gave the 3th bloom just after the repoting, or she´s gonna bloom till death, some species do that well lets see what happens.
She´s outdoors over a wall but a litle bit protected by a leader, right now almost every day its raining, but when not I spray some clean water, I fertilize maybe one time a month with some basic npk 10\10\10 solution. I think she s doing well without heavy fertilization beacause the place where she is its well ventilated and naturally humid, so she can get her own food.

Hi Nenella,
Thanks for the compliment.
Galeandra can be a very charming Genus to colect, unusual flowers with a nice architectural pseudobulbs.

I got only two but with some time\money Ill colect all the species, I dont know why maybe just an obsession!

Thanks for the culture info, I think that this is a genus I'll consider later.
