Default Catasetums hang em high!!

seemingly safe for now from the snarling tentacles of the giant snails...

Now if they start dive bombing from the ceiling. ???

they grow wonderfully unmolested.

Wrap copper tape around a section of the hangers. Snails can climb that far.

I haven't had any high-flying snails, but I HAVE had slugs ... had buds eaten off a C. tigrina that was hanging 9 feet up, and found the culprit so I know what it was. So yeah, copper tape, maybe some snail/slug bait (though the latter tends to get gross from watering)

I've seen snails high up in cherry trees, conifers and even on light posts to the point it became a real pest. But never high up against walls.

Nice setup!

Either that, or slugs fly.
