Default Is this a Keiki? A Weird Bulb? Neglected Cat help

I will admit I have neglected my orchids this summer. Between work, travel, and a hurricane, I've been keeping them watered and that's about it.

I've been avoiding dealing with this new growth on my only catasetum because I didn't really know what to do and just procrastinated. But the time has come to be a better plant mom.

This plant seems to flower from different places on its bulbs. It's spiked right from the top of a bulb, right at the base, and from between leaves. So when this first sprouted, I was not sure what would grow.

At first I thought it was just a new bulb, but it really doesn't look like it's growing from the rhizome, and when I pick it up, the new bulb wobbles, so it's a bit precarious.

Is this a keiki? If so, is there a way to get this grown child to finally move out of mom's house without killing one of the plants?

Or is it a weirdly growing bulb, and I should repot it at an angle to get more of the roots in the medium so it can be stable?

Appreciate any advice!

It's a normal growth. I wouldn't repot it now. The time to repot these is during winter dormancy, or so many roots are damaged the plant can be set back badly.

You could consider putting the whole pot into a larger container and backfilling with more medium. If you can keep up with the watering as it is you don't need to do this.
