I suggest you apply more wax. Encase not only the cut ends but for at least a half inch / 1.25cm along the stem from the end. It looks like there are small uncovered areas through which it could dry out.

I've decided to give the wax idea a try. I first treated the cuts with Phyton 27, let it act for about an hour, dried the cuts and then applied the wax. I'll keep my fingers crossed that at least one of the pieces will produce a new pseudobulbs.

I'll keep you updated.

@SG in CR: Good luck with you Cycnoches warscewiczii.
One of Brazil's more prolific Catasetinae growers/sellers does something similar. Check out this video of his. Turn on closed captions, then go over to setting and have it auto translate into English so you can follow along.

I've added more wax...

The video from Valdison Catasetinae is quite encouraging. My pieces are smaller, but on the other hand I'll be happy even if only one piece sprouts.

Update: looks like the fungicide either didn't work or a bacterial infection has now taken over.
The slowly advancing yellowing rot has turned into a more quickly advancing rot that is just turning the bulb to mush.
Hopefully your approach works better than mine Stephane.

You sure it isn't just the bulb being absorbed by the rest of the plant?
