Default Summer ‘20 SVO Catasetinae Seedling Update!

How are your Summer ‘20 SVO Catasetinae seedlings doing? These are the new crosses that Fred made available in late June/early July. I’m hoping folks will post up pics so we can see how they are progressing. Here are pics of Morm. 8184 and Morm. 8192 from July 8 and today. They’ve put on some decent size but I’m curious how others’ have done both indoor and out.

wow!!! yours really beefed up a lot

mine have NOT grown much but i have kind of resolved to let them be under watered and under fed until next year because i don't want to kill them in sphag and i have a habit of doing that....

i did not take any beginning pics but i'll grab a pic of them tonight

🤔 I was figuring these would be behind most, especially for those growing outdoor as I’m growing them under lights. I’d still like to see progress pics from those who have them. I’ll likely be throwing these in mini PET setups in the spring.

So I went a little overboard.

They are all fattening up nicely. I'm giving them 3/4 strength ferts everyday.

Those look great! I think you got just the right amount! I’ve been feeding 20-20-20 at half strength every other day or so.

All of yours look great!

A majority of mine got badly burned/dehydrated during the last heat wave. I was out of town while temps outside rose past 110F for a week. These managed to survive. My two Clowesias have grown well but my cycnoches and catasetums are struggling.

That’s a bummer. I’d say your survivors are looking pretty darn fine!

I have two. I set them in my sunroom where an automatic sprinkler soaks them every morning.
