The previous pic was taken half an hour or so ago. The light tan is there to stay. I'll show photos of the flowers in the near future in the Catt section.

CatC ..... the agri-fos equivalent in Australia (where I live) is Yates anti-rot phosacid. Another agri-fos equivalent is Aliette.

I've emailed the seller and they said that the plant was ok when it left and the black spots appeared because it stayed very warm in the bauble wrap. And they asked me to send it back, which I don't want to...I feel I can handle it with your support

Sounds good CatC. Sounds like a good and caring seller too.

Should I send it back?
That's their answer:
"Hi,
The reason why we ask to send it back is because it occurred in transit. If the plant had been kept in very high temperature with sun penetrating the box it can very quickly deteriorate. We really do not want that to happen and that exactly what I think had happened to the box.
If not that we still would like to know why those spots are there, I am personally not concerned but I just do not think we can put on your shoulder any pressure of trying to heal it. At the moment it is savable, being the largest of the lot with multiple pseudobulbs.
We might get some next month so you will be able to purchase some in the future from us.(still have slightly smaller one in stock right now)
It is no point trying to heal it yourself as we have the right conditions and the expert to help the little fella.
You will be fully refunded
Again sorry for the inconvenience

Kind regards"

I mean...if it's nothing really serious and, from your answers, I feel it's not, I am not keen on sending it back as I am not sure I'll be able to get a new one and even if I get it, the same thing might happen...

Iyf like to know who the vendor is asking to send it back.

A professional vendor would not ask to send back.

I wouldn’t send it back. Seems like a nice offer though.

Not necessarily true Mook. Professional pertains to a job/business with paid services, or something like that. And there are return policies - and some of the return policies will have categories or conditions. So whether the return cost will be covered by the customer or by the seller will depend on conditions.

If the customer must pay for return, and if an issue is clearly not the fault of the customer side, then that can become an issue. Such as ----- if the plant reaches the customer in some very unacceptable deteriorated state etc.

I'm not sure what to get from his answer...at a point he said he's personally not concerned (like he thinks it's nothing serious) and after that he said he has the right conditions and the expert to help it ( which suggests it needs a little more to get well). I'll just keep it and listen to what experienced people here are advising.
Regarding the seller, I bought from him before and didn't have problems (I mean I did, but from my own fault and he had been supportive) and he has 100% positive feedback.

I've found Yates on Ebay but only delivered from Australia - the postage costs more than the product itself (~AU $ 52).

Aliette seems to be available in the UK as well, is it the one in the picture? If so...I'll go for it.

Thanks again.
