Default Bulbophylum pardalotum

This plant comes from the Philippines. It is a cool growing, miniature plant that grows single pseudobulb with a single leaf, it will grow rhizome that is about an inch in length from which emerges another psuedobulb. The flower emerges from a long flower spike that produces a single flower. Once the flower opens, in the morning, it closes again every evening.

I had a plant on a mount but it slowly died after a year. But since then, I learned to grow this plant in this pot. Watering about every other day, under LED lights, 12 hours a day. It likes a lot of moving fresh air.

Wow Matt, what a cool Bulbophyllum! I especially like the flower, very different. I only grow a couple of Bulbos, both miniatures. For some reason I've never gotten interested in growing them although there are some gorgeous Bulbos! Congratulations on the success of this plant and its flowering.

Those rambling Bulbophyllums are difficult to manage. Seems I have better luck with some others. Need to post photo as several in bloom now.

Thanks Patty. Because of its cultural requirements, I grow this one with my Neos. But keep it a little bit more hydrated in the winter. When it is outside, it gets watered daily. But then in the winter it gets watered about every third day.

This one does ramble. But it is small, doesn't take up too much space, so it is easier than the larger Bulbos. It seems to come to flower easier too.

Congratulations on the flower! I have one but it has not bloomed yet. I hope it will soon.
