If you don't get your questions answered, you could contact Edgar Stehli of Windswept in Time Orchids (I think his Email is on his website). He grows quite a few Bulbos and is quite knowledgeable about them. He may be able to help you or direct you to someone who can. Andy of Andy's orchids might also be a good person to ask, too, since he seems to offer quite a few for sale.

I have two smaller plants from other sources, so I'll wait and see if this is normal. I'm underwhelmed right now.

You will need to let us know what happens with the other two. If they are seedling grown, there can be some variation, unfortunately.
Sometimes, they can be misidentified, too, unfortunately.
