Default Bulbophyllum medusae first bloom of this season

So, finally even mine decided it is a time, little late this year, and so far only one spike opened, but there are 2 on the way, this is really my favorite Bulbo, and this one got me to growing them, when I saw it for the first time, I did fell in love with Bulbophyllums, and started to call them "space orchids" due t their unusual strange blooms! This is my oldest medusae, I have it for some 4 years, and got it as the division of some 5 rhizomes, grow in plastic basket, sphagnum moss, watering every day or every 2 days, never letting dry out. Bright shade, and fertilize pretty often, 2-3 times a month in active season. I do give some seaweed also.

Thanks Bud:-) Last year it started in Septembeer and the last blooms were in December, so I hope this year will go from now for next few months. My Bulbo shirley this year provided quite a show, started in September it had already over 15 spikes, sometimes 4 at the time open, and it still pushes the new ones:-) I do fertilize my bulbos though much more this year, and for the first time they are getting seaweed also this year:-)

Love that last shot up into the individual flower. Yep, it's an orchid!
