Your instincts are correct by giving this a humidity tray.
This orchid plant prefer to be watered evenly moist, except a slight drying in the middle of winter ( maybe 2 weeks of watering every 3 days only). During growth period in the warmer months, this plant should be watered lavishly, so they are never dry but not wet.
Because of the high humidity and moisture conditions loved by this orchid, fungus can be a problem. A monthly preventative spray of fungicide is desirable to ward off this fungi problems.
Good air movement is a must to keep leaf fungus down, because of the heavy watering regimen.
I have a 2 gallon humidifier with built in oscillating fan as a supplement.

my home made fungicide remedy is a mixture of:

10 drops dish soap
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon extract (don't use the powder) = get this on the spice aisle of the supermarket or online
2 cups tepid water from the sink

spray the whole plant until drenched = preventive measure for fungi

*but if you already have fungi then resort to the big guns.....chemicals you can buy in the garden shop of Home Depot

I thought you put this in that humidity tray with blue plastic balls....
If you can look at RJ's tread, he made a fish bowl with hydroton and moss that helps to get an evenly moist environment for your net pot.

Take a look at RJ's fishbowl set up and I copied it for my Masdevallias and it really worked for me.

Growing masdies/draculas in glass bowls?
