bulbophyllum beccarii
Update on my bulbophyllum beccarii purchased at Redland last month. It is growing. So far so good
I would appreciate seeing how others grow this species. It's kept in shade and humid closer to my cool pad. Water drips on the leaves to keep this moist so I don't have to water it everyday.

It's alright. I flowered Bulbo Phalaenopsis. It doesn't have pleasant smell but my greenhouse is very well ventilated. I can't wait to flower this. New leaf should be nice and clean in a protected environment.

Cool plant! Someone on another forum recommended piling sphagnum moss in the leaves, I think he called it the 'ice cream cone' method. Apparently in the wild organic debris collects in the leaves and is infiltrated by the plant's roots. I don't grow beccarii so can't evaluate this method one way or another, but the person promulgating it seemed to get good results.

Nice! I think I was in the Ooi's tent when you got that. It looks like the same plant I was looking at. Great growth habit on this species and its not going to hurt if there's a little moss in the leaf axis. Like Nat said, those big cone shaped leaves collect debris in nature and help it say moist. Good luck with it!

Wow! That is awesome. I have never even heard of this species until I saw this thread. I just googled B. beccarii, that's a really interesting species! Thanks for posting this gem

OMG, I had never heard of this. Never seen a Bulbo with leaves like that. Its must be fun having this one in the collection.
