Cirrhopetalum--rosy colored and lightly fragrant
Hi everyone,
I have been visiting the forum for some time now, but this is my first post here.  Sorry for being silent for so long. Many of you I know from other forums. Greetings to old and new friends.
I have this cirrhopetalum growing happily in my kitchen window that finally decided to flower. It was labeled Cirr. lepidum, but it doesn't look like it. The flowers are the right shape but much darker. Either there is a great variation in color, or it was mislabeled. If anybody knows what it could be, please let me know. It has a very light fragrance if you stick your nose very close to the flowers. Kind of peasant floral fragrance.
I like it, but I am not wild about it. It is one of my candidates for trade.

Whatever it is I really like it. You say a "very light fragrance". Is that a good one or a bad one?

Its absolutely gorgeous. And you grow it in your kitchen you say! 
Here is a link to your C. lepidum now known as C. flabelloveneris, I have heard of flowers being different shades of a color due to temperature and or lighting affects. However the website says there is no fragrance to this one.

Hi Tindo,
I knew you would like this one! I am surprised myself how well it's growing. It really needs to be in a terrarium, not hanging in the window.
As for the fragrance, maybe I have some special olfactory talent or something. It is very faint, but I am sure it's there.
Talking about fragrance, have you read the "Fragrant Orchids" by Steven A. Frowine? It has a great chapter explaining different types of fragrances and how orchids get judged based on their fragrance.
My problem was with the following chapters listing all of the fragrant orchids that I now want to buy.

I don't think it's flabelloveneris...The flowers are shorter. I have one more source of information to ask. I will let you know, when/if I find out.
