Default Bulbophyllum Suggestions

Hello everyone! Haven't been connected in a long time, but I am glad to be back

I haven't made an orchid acquisition in too long, and so I am looking into buying a few Bulbos, as they have always fascinated me and i have found that they grow pretty well in my conditions. The ones i have are:

Bulbophyllum elassonotum

Bulbophyllum rothschildianum

Any suggestions you have from personal experience on good growing and good flowering are greatly accepted and thanked! Hope to be hearing from all of you very soon!

Have you considered echinolabium or any of it's hybrids? Large impressive blooms and a good sized plant when mature. Fair warning- If you smell the blooms up close they smell like rotting flesh which be exactly what I would want if I were your age again.

First off . . . from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan! It is great to see someone my age on here! I sure hope you stick around. As far as suggestions go, I have not grown any yet, but I just ordered 10 from Cloud's Orchids for a VERY good price, about $170 for all 10. There is a great selection of Bulbo's on their site. For convenience, here is a link to their Bulbo list >Bulbophyllums and Allies(updated on August 14, 2011 (Refresh)), and then to their 'from the collection and limited quantities' list, which also has a few others not in the main Bulbo section >From the Collection and limited quantities(updated on August 14, 2011 (Refresh)) Make sure to show us some pics of what you got!

Madphrag: yes I have considered it and had been on my mind for several months! But I'm not sure if I'm up for it. The smell sort of throwa me off of purchasing it :/ but if you have experience in growing it, could you tell me how you do and if it is an 'easy gowing' plant :P just provide as much info as possible! Cause you might have me convinced. Yes the blooms are very impressive!

Blazing AUgust: thank you very much! I too am glad to find someone to share my passion with who is also my age yes ive seen what clouds can offer, but there's so much to chose from! That's why I made this thread:P I've been to their greenhouses before and chatted with the owner. Very nice person and an amazing collection! What plants did you order?

I odered the following:

Bulbo. carunculatum v. sulawesi
Bulbo. claptonense
Bulbo. dentiferum
Bulbo. (lepanthiflorum x annandalei)
Bulbo. macraei
Bulbo. Meen Legend Jewel
Bulbo. (Meen Ocean Brocade x bicolor)
Bulbo. nymphopolitanum
Bulbo. Pranom Prutpongse (sanguineopunctatum x bicolor)
Bulbo. Worayuth White Fang

These are all from the Bulbo list, but one of the hybrid names you won't find there, as they have just the parents listed, and I found that it was already registered. But I have included the parents for so you know what it is. I am SUPER excited to get them!

Ooooo! I just noticed that you said you have an elassonatum! I want to get it now, but I must keep myself in check or I will go broke! Does it really smell like ripe apples like stated on Cloud's Orchids?
