Great bloom, Glen! Fantastic color and shape. Does it attract hordes of flies with its stench?

Nat - Don't laugh, I had to take it out of the greenhouse, the flies were cross pollinating way too many plants and it was making me sick. It's not one that you want to admire up-close for any amount of time.

Sorry, I couldn't help it. I really want to grow more Lepidorhiza bulbos, but since all my plants grow inside our home most of the year I've been forbidden to grow any stinkers. A couple may have found their way in anyway, but I think one with 'Upwind' in it's name might arouse a bit of spousal suspicion...

Well then for sure, I will have to send you something extra stinky for Christmas.

Glen;

I had to laugh when Bill talked about this cross at the Delaware Orchid Society last night. Stinky x stinky results in oh my God! Does that reek! Talk about hybrid vigour!

He's made some amazing crosses.

Cheers.
Jim

Chryss - Hijack away, I've got to be nice to my new hybridizing partner. If you want to trade divisions of stinkys that fine by me. Just so you know, this flower stinks from about a foot away. It's off to my Society's Show this weekend. Hope the flower holds for the Judges.

Your echinolabium is huge, that dorsal dwarfs the rest of the plant.
